Thoughtful Father’s Day Gifts From the Kids
Father’s Day is around the corner and it is time to celebrate the super hero in your child’s life. Of course you also have super hero status, however there is something special about “Dada” – and rightfully so. I have pulled together ideas and inspiration for thoughtful Father’s Day gifts from the kids that will truly ROCK his world. I hope you find the EXACT right thing for the dad(s) in your life.
Hand-Drawn Caricature of a Family Photo: $25.00
This is my FAVORITE idea and it is perfect for ANY dad, any occasion! A local artist created this hand-drawn caricature based off our most recent family photo.
The drawing measures 8″x10″ and is drawn on white paper, perfect for framing.
It is super easy and affordable to have this funny and personal gift made.
Email your photo to: KimberlyRuss87@comcast.net, call Kim & Thomas Russ at 561.602.6731 with any inquiries and follow their Facebook group Zatara.
Our drawing cost $25 with a very quick turnaround time. THIS is a one-of-a-kind gift that won’t end up in the pile of tired ties and bookmarks.
Collar stays: $29.00
These personalized collar stays are perfect for the traveling business man. Our boys gave my husband a set years ago, and we had them made with our family’s cute sayings. My husband uses them all the time, but especially when he is out of town.

Build with Dad:
LEGO Architecture Series:
My husband is from Seattle, one year we gave him the Space Needle LEGO Architecture set, which was a huge hit. He built it with Jacob (back when we only had one child – waaay back when) and he displayed it proudly in his office.

Check out the latest LEGO Architecture set in the series: The Flatiron Building, the most striking of New York’s earliest skyscrapers.

The new LEGO Star Wars Death Star ™ Final Duet set came out in celebration of May the 4th. It is first time ever in LEGO Star Wars mini-figure history that Darth Vader has a life support collar and removable mask/helmet. Totally cool gift for the Star Wars lover in your life!
I fondly remember sitting in my dad’s recliner reading books with him. He made the funny voices and the comic book sound effects. Help your child and his father create their own memories for years to come.

Walk with Dad:
Give your husband/ partner the ultimate man-accessory, the one item that instantly turns him into eye-candy – more so than normal! Personally, I LOVE the Tula carrier, and this print is adorable (and masculine).
These carriers are incredibly durable and can be passed down from baby to baby.
Work out with Dad:
… and afterwards put all the wet (and stinky) workout clothes in a wetbag. I am well-aware that the original intent for these bags was to store dirty diapers, but they work perfectly to keep wet athletic gear or swim suits separated. Buy two or three of him to keep in his gym bag or to take to the beach. The possibilities are endless, and it’s a perfect excuse to shop at GreenPath Baby.
Date with Dad:
Days like Father’s Day aren’t about material goods, they are for making memories and sharing experiences. I love giving gifts that encourage quality time and togetherness. Consider these fun ideas and tailor them to fit the interests of the dads in your life. Have fun with it – get creative!
Here are a couple of terrific ideas for sharing special moments with dad.
- Gift card to local ice-cream shop or restaurant.
- Tickets to sporting event or concert.
- Homemade coupon for a day fishing, at the beach, as a tourist in your own town.
- Paid admission to a round of miniature golf, the driving range, the movies or the bowling alley.
Fishing trip:
My dad was a great fisherman and to honor his memory we recently took the boys out for their first fishing trip in a local river/ stream. They loved it and it made my heart so happy to watch my husband untangle their fishing line every 3 minutes.
Tackle Box-88 Piece (Blue): $8.96 (link to view and purchase)
This fully stocked tackle box is only $8.96.
Imagine filling it with gift cards, a fishing license and tickets to a favorite sporting event! That would make for a Father’s Day to remember.
Beach trip:
We live in South Florida, so of course weekends are either spent at the pool or the beach. Let the kids pick out a gift for dad and then work around that theme, like with this beach bucket!
8 Piece Beach Bucket Playset: $9.97 (link to view and purchase)
An adorable bucket full of beach toys for only $9.97. Add gift cards, sun screen and maybe a home made gift card to a weekend at a beach hotel for the family!

This will be my husbands first Father’s Day as a dad. There are some good ideas here (how much would I love to buy him a Tula? lol). I think I’ll go along the experiences route with a date with dad, or maybe a picnic breakfast or something.
I love the Tula idea.
These are all great ideas, I think the Tula would be more for me though.
These are great!
What great ideas!
I love these ideas! I got my husband the Vader’s Little Princess book last year (or, rather, my daughter got it for him) so I need to come up with another fun idea like that. This is a great list!
That caricature is cute! My husband is an artist… think I could get him to make his own father’s day gift. Lol j/k
Really good ideas! I think my husband would love a Carrier of his own 🙂
