Autumn Leaf Crafts to Make With Kids:

So, remember when we did that cute collection of pinecone crafts?  Well, we’re at it again, or we’re still at it I should say, because really, the adventures and the crafting never stop.  This time around our featured nature find is leaves.  Everybody loves collecting and creating with the things they find outdoors. It gives everyone that much needed fresh air time, and a chance to get out and simply play outside.

Fall leaves can be pretty exciting, especially if you’re in a northern climate, and the falling of the leaves signifies some pretty significant changes about to come your way.  Such as snow.  Lots of Snow.

Anyhow, before we brace for the colder winter temperatures, we are going to embrace and enjoy what Autumn has to offer, and one way to do that, is to create some really fun things with all these leaves we have been collecting.  I would like to add that in some of these instructions the materials may call for paper or silk leaves but I would consider them interchangeable with real leafs, as long as they are not too old and brittle.  Real is always better, right?

14 Awesome Autumn Leaf Crafts

These Turkey Leaf Lanterns by Rhythms of Play are just adorable.  The lanterns themselves are pretty handy, but the turkey faces crack me up.  This this is totally doable craft that would make a lovely keepsake gift.

Oh my gosh these Fall Leaf People by Fantastic Fun and Learning are hilarious.  I just love them and the possibilities are endless.

Fall Leaf Prints by Meaningful Mama would make very nice wall art, and provide that good bit of messy fun we all long for.

And of course Painting Leaves by Simple Fun for Kids is another great one that might be even better if you had maybe one more day of warmer weather in which you and the kids could paint outside.

These Leaf Masks by Small + Friendly are actually quite lovely.  Great dress up fun and you can make new ones every year, so you don’t have to store them!

Space Leaves by Adventure in a Box are just fun.  These would be a great way to break up the fall activities, and have a little science fiction fun.

These Clay Leaf Bowls by Emma Owl are super cute, and would make great gifts!

I adore this Fall Leaf Book Page Banner by Simple As That and this one may be a bit more time consuming, but would make a great family project.

Now this Real Leaf Fall Art Project by Just a Girl would be great for the older crafters , or again done as a group project.

This is Fall Leaf Wreath by Simply Designing is great for the little ones, and easy to personalize.

Fall Leaf Turkeys by MomDot are another example of turning leaves into turkeys and these also crack me up.  These would make great place settings for a big family meal.

This Leaf Branch Mobile by Happiness is Homemade can be made with real fall leaves. You could either find a way to preserve the leaves ( hairspray or clear stain ) or plan to make on next year.  You wouldn’t really want to leave the compost hanging on the wall for too long.

These Leaf Lanterns by Red Ted Art are just gorgeous.  Again, these would be great table decorations and or keepsake gifts.

And of course, everyone needs a Leaf Crown by Nurture Store.  I would opt for using the real leafs directly on the crown for this as well.  It could be a fun fall party activity.

Happy gathering!
