The Best Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt for the Whole Family

I’m kinda obsessed with Christmas. I’ll be the first person to admit that. And while there are certain things that I’m not a huge fan of (*cough, cough* elf on the shelf *cough, cough*), there are other holiday traditions and activities that I love. One of those just so happens to be this Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt.

Now, I have to be a bit truthful with you guys here…I like Christmas lights but I also like competing against the kids to see how many I can find first. Call me crazy, but I like to win, (totally in a friendly, mom sort of way)

The great part about this scavenger hunt is that anyone, of any age, can play. All you need to do is have this printable scavenger hunt sheet with you as you drive around town to see who can find them all first. (Or if you’re not into family competition, you can play together as a group, too!)

Don’t forget, before you pack up the family to head out for your Christmas lights scavenger hunt, make everyone a steaming cup of hot chocolate for the ultimate experience.

 Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt

Anytime I can spend quality time and hygge with the family, I’m 100% down to make it happen. The holiday season is here and since we’re all still doing our part and staying home, I can say with certainty that there are going to be many more activities like this one in our very new future. It seems like this year, the Christmas lights are out in abundance and it’s AWESOME!

As long as the boys will put on pants (it’s a thing) and as long as I can find the car keys (another real thing) then it’s game on for this fun Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt.

And since there aren’t really any real “rules” to this fun game besides finding the lights listed and marking them off, it’s a pretty straightforward and pain-free process.

How to Use this Christmas Scavenger Hunt

All you really have to do is print it off and get started. There are 20 plus different Christmas lights to seek and find. Will you find them all? Who knows?! But may the best man (or mom!) win.

What lights are included in this scavenger hunt?

Don’t think for a minute that you’re going to be looking for any old regular Christmas lights. I’d never make it that easy on you.

Some of the Christmas lights that you’ll be searching for include:

  • Inflatable Decoration
  • Giant Christmas Lights
  • Grinch Lights
  • “Seasons Greeting” light
  • Candy Canes
  • Disney Character
  • Blinking Lights
  • Polar Bear

And more. This list has them all and it’s up to you to find as many as you can.

Take it from me…it’s probably a really good idea to set a timer on how long you’re going to be looking for these lights. Or at least grab your debit card as you’re running out the door so that you can fill the car up with gas if you need to.

I kid, I kid. But not really. Because if you’re competitive like me, you just might spend HOURS driving around town looking for all of the lights on this list.

Just pack some snacks for the kids, turn on some Christmas jams, and enjoy the time in the car together.

This is what Christmas memories are made of!
