Our three year old is your typical toddler. He loves to build, he loves to stack. He handles blocks and bricks like a professional. He creates, tears down, piles up and knocks over. He is a busy little guy. His favorite toys are the ones handed down by his two older brothers: a big bin full of wooden trains and tracks and two bins piled high with colorful LEGO DUPLO blocks. Thankfully Dreamup Toys have found a way to unite two of the most awesome toys – EVER made!  We were provided a set of Dreamup Toys’ railway platforms, but the opinions stated here are mine – and the kids’!

Dreamup Toys unites the best toys ever made: DUPLO and wooden railway tracks. Your kids will keep building for years to come! #KeepBuilding

As you can imagine, the perfect entertainment for Jansen is something that incorporates his two favorite toys. Well – look no further. Dream Toys’ Wooden Railway Block Platforms are a culmination of all the best life has to offer – at least if you are a toddler/ preschooler/ kid! Their platforms allow little hands to play with LEGO DUPLO blocks together with wooden railway sets.

What is a Wooden Railway Block Platform?! (I thought you’d never ask!)
• The white plastic plates are compatible with DUPLO bricks (and other comparable block toys).
• There is a railway track that runs down the middle of the plate, interlocking with standard wooden railway tracks (such as Thomas and BRIO trains).
• The platform allows for creative building on both sides of the track, opening endless possibilities for tunnels, bridges, buildings and stations.
• The plates are made of thick durable plastic, much like the standard DUPLO bricks. They have a lifespan far beyond our kids’ childhood.

Our living room floor is constantly covered in a variety of DUPLO bricks, leaving ample opportunity for little growing minds to sit down and build whatever their hearts desire. Once in a blue moon all four boys will gather around a pile of blocks and collaborate to create something big and fantastic. It doesn’t happen as often as I would like, but when it does I sit back and enjoy the sound of four little minds hard at work.

Now that school is out, I am encouraging the kids to keep building together. I want the older kids to challenge the little ones, and for the little ones to test the patience of the older kids, because that’s really what life is all about, isn’t it?!

We received the railway track platforms from Dreamup Toys last week. I ever so quietly left them on the floor to see what would happen. In a matter of minutes the creativity reached new heights. Jansen’s excitement was so contagious that his older brothers came running to see what all the noise was about. All of a sudden, Jacob and Jordan forgot that they are “too cool” to play with their baby brothers. Dreamup Toys’ platforms not only connected wooden tracks and LEGO DUPLO bricks, they also connected brothers!

The boys immediate built a train station for their DUPLO and Brio people, which is the structure you see in the pictures. Since then they have built bridges and tunnels for the trains. The platforms fit perfectly with all of our wooden railway pieces, so now our living room floor is not only covered in bricks, but also tracks!

Thank you, Dreamup Toys. This seemingly simple innovation is one that will make our kids happy (and our house messy), as they keep building their way through the summer!

Tove, that railway track is genius! We have a lot of duple bricks and, even though he already has plenty of toys, I’m always looking for creative ways to shake things up. I guess his toys are my toys too? LOL It’s one of the perks of having boys!
