One of the things I love about LEGO is its versatility. The possibilities are truly endless, only limited by the builder’s imagination and creativity. LEGO recently challenged a group of LEGO Makers to build something cool, unusual yet functional with LEGO bricks. Watch the results as the LEGO makers “get real”! #RealLEGOFan

LEGO Makers Get Real. See how LEGO Makers create a useful product out of LEGO Technic components.

The result is nothing less than awe-inspiring and oh so useful, which you can see for yourself in this YouTube video and the pictures. The LEGO Makers created a large working LEGO Technic Wall of Fans, which was put on display for the public to enjoy at the Flatiron Plaza in New York.

This “cool” build is interactive, as people (and dogs) walk by the wall the fans turn on, one by one.

Have fun building your own LEGO fan with these instructions!  (Click link for details)

Check out people’s reaction to the fan as they walk by. My personal favorites are the dogs!

The pieces used to create these fans are from the LEGO Technic line. They are the same components used by Bricks 4 Kidz in their after school and camp programs. Don’t miss my two reviews of Bricks 4 Kidz, they are a must-read if your kids love LEGO: “Everything You WANT to Know About Bricks 4 Kidz” and “Bricks 4 Kidz Camp Review

Our kids really enjoy LEGO Technic, it is the natural next step for kids who have mastered the standard LEGO brick building and are now ready for actual movement and true engineering. After that comes robotics, which is also used to make this interactive wall.

These sets are perfect for introducing kids to LEGO Technic and all the line’s innovative capabilities:
