I am excited to share my experience with New Nordic’s Hair Volume supplement. I received product and compensation in return for my 100% honest review.
5 Things for Women to do When They Experience Hair Loss
The shower is supposed to be a refreshing and revitalizing start to your day, right? You get in to wash off the stress and the tension in preparation for a productive day. However, when you start to notice more hair flowing down the drain than stress and tension that’s when showers no longer feel like self-care.
Have you recently collected more hair from your brush and the shower drain than you care to admit? Has your hairline become eerily thin along the sides and the front? Is styling your hair a source of stress instead of a welcomed personal-care opportunity?
Please remember that no part of this post is meant as a medical diagnosis or recommendation for treatment. I am sharing my own personal experience after I consulted my trusted medical professional. I encourage you to discuss hair loss “treatments” with your own trusted medical professional, as some supplements and vitamins interact with medications and medical conditions.
Five Steps to Combat and Prevent Women’s Hair Loss:
These are the five things I have done to combat and prevent further hair loss. Think of treating thinning hair and hair loss in women as tackling the problem from “all sides”: from the inside and the outside at the same time.
Step 1: See Your Trusted Medical Professional (ie. General Practitioner)
Once you start noticing either more hair on your hairbrush or a lighter hairline, schedule an appointment with your trusted medical professional. Your general practitioner may order bloodwork to make sure your thyroid (TSH), hormones, and vitamin levels are within normal ranges. They will also consider your age and the possible onset of menopause.
Step 2: See a Dermatologist
A dermatologist can rule out any medical conditions affecting your scalp and hair follicle health. You can also ask for recommendations for scalp and hair-healthy products such as shampoos and conditioners. Remember, some shampoos, conditioners, and styling products leave unhealthy chemical build-up on your hair and scalp.
Step 3: Take Supplements
Add supplements to your daily vitamin regimen. The right combination of supplements and vitamins can be incredibly powerful and help solve a lot of health concerns.
I chose to use the Hair Volume from New Nordic and I have been more than impressed and satisfied with the results. My hair feels thicker and is growing at a healthy rate.

Step 4: Change Your Hairstyle
This step can be a lot of fun and refreshing. Personally, I did this in the fall of 2020. After a long pandemic, I was ready for a new look. I researched hairstyles well-suited for thinning hair and then scheduled an appointment with my hairdresser. I plopped myself in her chair and said “are you ready to have some fun on my behalf?!” And fun we had. I went from long shoulder-length layers to a spunky short layered bob, which was exactly what I needed.
If you can’t find your new look online, ask for a consultation with your hairstylist. Explain your concerns, “trouble” areas, and the different things you would like to “cover” or change. Strategically placed layers or wispy bangs may give your hair more lift and create the illusion of volume. Your hairstylist may very well become a best friend in managing hair loss in women.
Besides, we all need is a little confidence boost from time to time. A pampering session at the hair salon may be exactly what the “doctor” ordered.
Step 5: Take a Hair Styling Break
Last but not least, this step may happen naturally as an extension of the previous step, however, it deserves to be mentioned. The continued use of harsh chemicals and heat from styling and drying appliances puts stress on your hair and scalp.
As an example, wearing your hair in the same tight ponytail or bun every day may wear on the shaft of your hair, causing premature breakage.
Consider foregoing your usual hair coloring and highlight routine. Embrace your natural hair color or new gray streaks.
Or get a hairstyle that allows you to style it quickly without the use of a blow dryer and curling iron. Personally, I am a “wash-and-go” kind of gal. I honestly don’t even know where my blow dryer is these days, it’s been years since I used it.
While change is fun, it may be challenging to strike the right balance between a hairstyle you like and one your hair and scalp truly need. But have fun trying different hairstyles and styling techniques.
I have been taking Hair Volume by New Nordic for months and I have seen a definite improvement in my hair strength and new growth. While I cut my hair over 6 months ago, I have decided to take full advantage of Hair Volume by New Nordic to see how long I can grow my hair.
In the past, I have grown my hair out over the course of a year or two and then donated 10” – 12” to a charity dedicated to creating wigs out of real hair for cancer patients. This is exactly what my goal is now, I am going to grow my hair and donate it to charity.
I can’t wait to reach my goal, hopefully, quicker than normal with the help of Hair Volume.
One thing I have learned though, treating and preventing thinning hair is not a quick process. It takes patience and also a lot of self-love. Be your own positive cheerleader.
Have fun experimenting with new looks, but most importantly, remember: YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!
