Dearest Honey,
Happy 8th anniversary! I have agonized for a while over what to give the love of my life in honor of our 8th wedding anniversary – and the choice was obvious – your very own blog post! A post to the man who so far has remained out of the blogging lime light, but without his support this blog wouldn’t even exist.
Together we have experienced life and loss, health and sickness, stability and uncertainty – but through it all we had “us” – we have remained “Paul & Tove”, “Dada & Mama”, “Mr. & Mrs.” – we are a united front, solid union – a dynamic duo!
We have both grown, matured and improved over the past 8 years. Our transformation from “dating couple” to “family of six” seems to have happened over night, but in all actuality it took 2,920 nights. We have accomplished in 8 years what most people never achieve in their lifetime (- but that’s also because not everyone wants to have what we have… FOUR BOYS!).
We sure have been busy, our lives the past years have been one giant milestone, accomplishment or note-worthy event after another. We have not had a chance to come up for air or to enjoy the status quo. In fact, as the saying goes “the only constant is change” holds true for us. However, we have been blessed with our constant change, as it has continually improved us – as individuals, as a couple and as parents.
Paul, I want to thank you for being the pillar in this family. We would not be where we are today if it wasn’t for your strength, honesty and love. Your strong arms are always lovingly wrapped around our family – keeping us close and secure. I am blessed to have you as my best friend AND husband. You “get” me, support me and give me strength and confidence to dream and grow.
I can only hope to give you the love and support you need to reach new heights and to dream bigger dreams. I am proud to stand by your side as your wife and friend.
As we celebrate our union today, I look forward to enjoying the life that we have built together. Growing our family (relax! I don’t mean in quantity, but in quality) – helping our boys become young men with hopes and accomplishments beyond our biggest dreams.
Thank you for being my traveling partner on this adventure we call “life”. I can’t think of a more perfect, loving, inspiring, funny, and supportive person with whom to share my every day. I appreciate all the time we have spent together so far, and it warms my heart to know that you are my present as well as my future.
I love you today – and always!
Mr. Paul says
