We Need Hygge Clothes – NOW!
Growing up in Denmark, we were told “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing,” which in essence meant “put on your rain gear and get outside” or “bundle up in layers and get outside!”
This past summer, we moved from the land of eternal summer (Florida) to the land of eternal rain (Washington) – and I think that’s the most accurate description of both places. Winter will soon be upon us, it gets dark outside already at 5:00pm (sharp) and running bare foot to get the mail is a thing of the past – for quite a while.
I have summoned my Danish heritage and have embraced a life of hygge at home, because it is C O L D outside, (at least for those of us acclimated to Florida weather).
Wait, what is hygge? And why do I need it in my life?!

While I am living a hygge-filled life here in the frozen tundra, I have found some of the most comfortable, yet stylish clothes. It is perfect for a day at home in front of the fire place, a coffee date with a mom friend, a brisk walk down the nature trail (if one is so inclined), an aimless walk down the aisles of Target or an evening of board games with the family.
You name it, this clothes is perfect for busy moms who embrace hygge with friends and family.
Hygge is practically an entire lifestyle in Denmark. It’s said that the Danes continue to rank as one of the happiest people in the world BECAUSE of their hygge lifestyle. Therefore, when you think of hygge, also think of the Danish happiness, Danish design and Danish fashion.

My favorites were clearly the prAna Akiak Leggings paired with the prAna Permafrost half-zip hoodie – because what’s better than the comfort of yoga pants and the warmth of a fuzzy hoodie?!
I wore the yoga pants/ leggings around town, doing everything BUT yoga – and they were amazing. They hugged me all the right places without being too tight or constricting.
The hoodie has been a life saver, no really it has. I have layered it under my jacket so I could watch my kids’ soccer games without suffering from hypothermia. (I am kidding, it’s really not THAT cold here for the “natives,” but for those of us fresh from Florida, it’s a bit chilly.) The hoodie also looks adorable on its own.
