You know all too well how hard it is to get out of the house WITHOUT the kids in tow! It takes planning, coordination and lots of convincing. Either you are convincing your spouse that it will be fun, telling your kids that the babysitter is great or talking the babysitter into staying – even though the kids look more like wild wolf cubs than the four cherubs you told her they were. Thankfully last weekend, the stars alined and we were able to get out of the house without any bribing, debating or other negotiations.
My husband and I were invited to the local Brio Tuscan Grille for a culinary adventure. We greatly appreciate the food, the wine and the entire experience. Please know that all the opinions are mine and my husbands. We were there to experience their “Tale of Two Risottos“, because when one risotto isn’t enough… you get both!
My husband and I actually had one of our first dates (ten years ago) at this particular Brio Tuscan Grille, which is located right outside the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens. The location is always buzzing with happy customers, and this day was no exception.
We were greeted by their professional staff and taken to our table in a prime location of the restaurant. I honestly can’t remember last time we went on a quiet date, so we thoroughly took in the atmosphere and the opportunity to enjoy a meal and wine without having to “negotiate with terrorists”, I mean talk the toddlers into sitting down and asking the older boys to use their “indoor voices.”

The reason for our visit was to try their new special “A Tale of Two Risottos” and experience their recommended wine pairing of the Conundrum 25th Anniversary Blends. We met both the General Manager and the Executive Chef who both took the time to ensure that our meal with everything we had hoped it would be. I am thrilled to say that it was so much more!
We started with the Bruschetta Quattro as an appetizer. This sampling of their four bruschetta was perfect for sharing and getting the palate warmed up and ready for the main course. My personal favorite was the Applewood Bacon & Tomato Jam Bruschetta, while my husband loved the Sliced Steak Bruschetta.
Then came decision time, trying to pick which risotto we should try… thankfully the choice was made easy, we got one of each! When one risotto isn’t enough, get two!
The two risotto dishes:
The Cold Water Lobster Tail with Shrimp Risotto
Risotto with shrimp, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, asparagus, basil and parmesan, topped with a broiled Maine lobster tail.
The recommended wine pairing: Conundrum 25th Anniversary White Blend.
Sea Scallops & Ratatouille Risotto
Seared sea scallops served over risotto with roasted eggplant, red peppers, zucchini, tomato compote, basil and Reggiano.
The recommended wine pairing: Conundrum 25th Anniversary Red Blend.
Both my husband and I agreed that the lobster tail with shrimp risotto was our favorite, although it was closely followed by the sea scallops and ratatouille risotto. The lobster tail presentation was impressive and an incredible value. This is a dish I hope Brio Tuscan Grille will keep on their menu beyond this promotion.
I am not sure why, but we were caught up in the moment and agreed to have dessert! The Chocolate Layer Cake arrived and took my chocolate-loving breath away. It was every bit as delicious as it was a vision of chocolate perfection!
The Tale of Two Risottos is a romantic fusion of flavors and textures, just perfect for an impromptu date night, or as it was in our case, a lunch date. Remember, to celebrate the one you love 365 days a year. Hurry over to Brio Tuscan Grille for your romantic getaway, get swept off your feet by the risotto – and your loved one! Brio Tuscan Grille is the right combination of elegant experience, flavorful creations and quiet romance to make it a date you will remember and cherish.
I hope you have a chance to reconnect with your partner over these beautiful dishes. Don’t miss these two posts – your partner and family matter more than ANYTHING else!
