These four genius hacks will give you a stress-free holiday season – even if the turkey is dry and your Christmas cards go out late.

4 Hacks to Have a Stress-Free Holiday Season

As you gear up for the holidays, it can get a little daunting. It feels as if you have a to-do list that is never-ending. Many of us can start to feel anxious and maybe even a little nervous that we will become overwhelmed in the preparation. If you ever begin to feel this way, try taking a step back and remember the reason for the season. When in doubt surround yourself with your loved ones and be grateful for this cheerful time. Additionally, read below for a few more hacks to help you stay stress-free for the holidays and tackle the season with ease.

Try out Hygge

Hygge is perfect for these cold weather months approaching us. Not only is it a cozy lifestyle to embrace, but it also can comfort you right out of your stress. Embracing a hygge lifestyle will provide a sense of warmth to your home that you won’t want to leave. Cuddling up to the fire with a glass of hot cocoa and a thick blanket is just what the doctor ordered when you begin to stress out!

Stay organized

There are many areas that require organization throughout the holidays. For example, constantly writing to-do lists is a great way to help structure yourself during Christmas time. Physically checking off each task will give you a real feeling of triumph, while simultaneously keeping you on track with your responsibilities. Additionally, we have a lot of materials to systemize as well. From elf on the shelf all the way to the Christmas lights strung on your bushes, we tend to have a lot of Christmas decor we need to keep track of. In the weeks leading up to December, take a second to organize your decor in designated Christmas storage bins. You will be protecting the decorations from damage, as well as making sure decorating goes as smoothly as possible.

Avoid too many commitments

With the merry holiday approaching, it can be so easy to say yes to every party or event that comes across your plate. Here’s a secret – It’s OK to say no! Of course, we’d like to enjoy this season with all of our friends and family, but spreading ourselves too thin can cause an enormous amount of stress. Being realistic about what you can commit to will save you from trying to pull off a balancing act. It’s crucial to try and keep a semi-normal routine throughout the month of December. This sense of normalcy can do wonders for your stress levels.

Stay healthy

Coming down with a head cold or some sort of stomach bug would terrible during the holiday season. It’s important we do everything we can to avoid this from happening. Keep up with your workouts and stay active, this will build a strong immune system to help ward off these germs. It’s also extremely important to get the right amount of sleep. Not to mention, exercising has been proven to reduce stress!

The holidays are a time to share with your loved ones, not the time to stress out and become anxious. Start to implement these hacks into your everyday routine and strive to have as much of a stress-free holiday season as possible!
