Everything is awesome when you have a LEGO decorated bathroom. This is every LEGO-loving child’s dream bathroom! They will WANT to wash their hands!
The kids came running towards me, their arms stretched out, ready for a big hug upon landing. “Mama, THANK YOU SO MUCH” – I wasn’t quite sure WHAT they were thanking me for, but unsolicited hugs from busy little boys is always welcome.
Then it dawned on me, they had just seen their bathroom, the one I have been quietly decorating without much fanfare because I wanted it to be a surprise. And a surprise it was!
When we moved into our new house, I promised to decorate the kids’ rooms in a LEGO theme, which to me also included the bathroom.
I found that there were not many products on the market for a LEGO bathroom, so I had to improvise and create a few of the finishing touches myself. The kids LOVE the final result and they ARE flushing and washing their hands – a total win when you are the mother of four boys!

Our Awesome LEGO Bathroom:
- Colors: I chose to use the happy yellow color of the LEGO mini-figure heads as a base color, and then accent with the primary colors from the LEGO bricks.
- Shower curtain: bright yellow with white polka dots. I found this at Bed Bath and Beyond.
- Wall art:
- Framed LEGO movie poster above the toilet.
- Bathroom rules – LEGO style in primary colors. “Brush Your Teeth”, “Wash Your Hands”, Hang Your Towel” and “Flush The Toilet.”
- LEGO Bathroom Signs: I found these ADORABLE superhero LEGO bathroom signs on ETSY. They are perfect for any superhero fan! (Updated 2016: I am going to update our bathroom with these signs.)
- Soap dispenser:
- Remove the decals from a refillable liquid soap dispenser.
- They are often on sale at the grocery for $1.
- Fill it with ten LEGO bricks of varying sizes and primary colors.
- VOILA! It was THAT simple, yet SO cute! (be warned – your kids might object that you used THEIR LEGO for the display!)
- Remove the decals from a refillable liquid soap dispenser.
- LEGO head storage/ decorations:
- The larger LEGO head is meant as meant for brick storage. I use it to store washcloths in the bathroom. You can find it on Amazon: [easyazon_link identifier=”B008KQ27LQ” locale=”US” tag=”maminthenow0e-20″]LEGO Storage Head Small[/easyazon_link]
- The smaller LEGO heads were such a fun project that the kids were able to help with.
- Empty and wash several baby food jars.
- Pour yellow paint inside. I used [easyazon_link identifier=”B00ATJSD8I” locale=”US” tag=”maminthenow0e-20″]acrylic craft paint[/easyazon_link].
- Swirl the paint around inside to ensure complete coverage.
- Dry upside down for a day so the excess paint drips out.
- Dry right side up for another day or two until it is completely dry to the touch.Draw faces on the jar turned upside down. I used [easyazon_link identifier=”B00006IFIL” locale=”US” tag=”maminthenow0e-20″]dry erase markers[/easyazon_link], so the kids can draw them and change their looks..
As you can see, it doesn’t take much to complete a LEGO bathroom. It is such a fun theme that I am sure we will expand upon it as time goes, adding towels and bathmats in primary colors. Best of all – it is not one I foresee them outgrowing for a while!
(This post was originally published August 2014. Now two years later, I am proud to say that the kids STILL love their LEGO bathroom. It is truly timeless and ageless!)

Oh my gosh, that is adorable! With two girls and a boy, this would delight one child and infuriate two others (one would want to decorate with fairies and the other one with princesses). But this is so cute, I wish I had three different kids bathrooms to decorate 🙂

That’s adorable. Such fun, cheerful colors. And it’s nothing permanent. As the kids grow, they can easily change it around.

Do you have a new location to find these lego bathroom prints. They are perfect for my boys but I can’t find them anywhere.
